Medical Interpreter
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Interpreter to facilitate clear and accurate communication between healthcare providers and patients. Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret medical conversations accurately and confidentially between healthcare providers and patients in real-time.
- Assist patients in understanding medical procedures, diagnoses, treatment options, and medication instructions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all healthcare privacy regulations, including HIPAA.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure effective communication and patient comfort.
- Document interpretation sessions as required and report any concerns or issues to appropriate personnel.
- Stay updated on medical terminology and healthcare protocols relevant to the role.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Fluency in at least two languages, including proficiency in English.
- Certification or training in medical interpretation is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse populations.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of healthcare terminology and medical procedures.
- Prior experience in medical interpretation or healthcare settings is advantageous.
